‘Never judge a person until you have walked a mile in their shoes’ Part shoe-shop, part audio-portrait of a country, this giant shoebox holds a diverse collection of shoes and audio stories that explore our shared humanity, giving you an intimate insight into the lives of strangers. From a Syrian refugee to a sex worker, a war veteran to a neuro surgeon, visitors are invited to walk in the shoes of a stranger whilst listening to their story. Love, loss, grief, hope and joy are all to be found here as we take you on an empathetic and physical journey.

Cross Lane Projects presents a work-in-progress installation by artist Mark Woods in the main gallery space while also opening up his studio for visitors with a variety of new pieces on display. Woods is a British artist with a background in contemporary jewellery production and in boat building, he produces highly elaborate artefacts that blur the boundaries between jewellery, fine art, fetish objects and items from a cabinet of curiosities.

Use a Giant Pantograph to trace miniature body outlines of a friend directly onto A4 art paper. Create complex geometric flower shapes with a set of Bike Cog Spirographs. Drawings can be taken away. Made by artist Nick Sayers from familiar materials, these contraptions demonstrate maths and mechanics in a fun, interactive way.
