Crowds at Cumbria's biggest music festival were the first to experience the brand new BirdHIVE.

BirdHIVE is a virtual reality experience that enables people to soar like a bird across Lake District National Park’s spectacular landscape.

It has been commissioned by Lake District National Park and Lakes Alive.

Revellers at Kendal Calling festival (28-30 July) had a sneak preview of BirdHIVE in the Lost Eden area of the site.

It proved a massive hit with queues of people wanting to experience flying with birds over some of the most beautiful parts of the national park.

Chris from Merseyside said: "It was a really calming experience. BirdHIVE has some amazing views - I was really impressed with it."

Duncan from Chester said: "I've never had a go on an immersive. I found it a brilliant experience."

Tammy from London said: "It was a real eye-opener. The views are spectacular and it gives you an appetite to want to explore the rest of the Lake District."

Olivia said: "It was nice to see Brockhole in BirdHIVE as I have visited there. And it makes you appreciate how beautiful the Lake District is. That there is more to life than pollution - that there are green and stunning areas of the county that are unspoilt."

We are thrilled that BirdHIVE will be coming to Lakes Alive when it will be based at the Brewery Arts Centre from Friday 8-10 September.
