One of the Lakes Alive main funders is Arts Council England (ACE).
We are grateful for the fantastic support from ACE - a body which believes that great art and culture inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us.
In short, it makes life better.
Jane Beardsworth, ACE Director North, got in touch this week as we look ahead to Lakes Alive 2017.
She said: "The North has developed a distinctive focus on 'art in unexpected places' taking advantage of our rich landscapes, industrial and cultural heritage and the ability to engage people in places where they already feel comfortable.
"The Arts Council is particularly keen to work in partnership to build cultural tourism in Cumbria and are committed to the development of outdoor work that enables artistic experiment and reaches a wider audience for arts and culture.
"We are delighted to support the Lake District National Park and partners to put on Lakes Alive and build on the success of last year. It promises to be an exciting weekend for residents and visitors alike."
