You are invited to a unique and enchanting dining experience alongside the River Kent on Friday 8 September from 6-10pm.

Jacob’s Join is a mass community get-together of food, music and merriment which launches Lakes Alive 2017. 

Bring your own picnic or buy from one of our delicious street vendors offering Thai and vegan food, traditional Cumberland curl sausages, meat and veggie wraps, risotto and more. 

Gorgeous guitar provided by Cumbrian folk band Mazurka and electrifying drumming from Worldbeaters Spark! The evening will be hosted by the wonderful Desperate Men.

The event is free. 

Join us for an enchanting dinner party with music, dancing and an explosive finale from our drummers who will lead the party up to Kendal Castle for the spectacular Installation Shipping Forecast. BYOB.

We have seating for 200 people. Please bring picnic blankets if you wish to sit on the grass.

The weather:

Should lady luck not shine upon us, we have a wet weather alternative nearby - the United Reformed Church hall.  We will inform you of any changes to the location via our social media channels, website and media. 

We expect to make decisions re weather around lunchtime on Friday. We will also have staff on site to re-direct you should we need to switch from outside to inside. 

Please turn up at Riverside Walk as usual until you hear otherwise.
