Fuel your imaginations and taste buds. This dynamic collection of creative workspaces, home to some of Kendal's most creative minds, throw open their doors, inviting you to come, see and play.

Taster sessions include sculpting, felting, collage, textiles and glass work. You can also join Ben Dodge to create a Lakes Alive festival tote bag (charge for bag).

Breathing life into one of Kendal’s most impressive post-industrial sites, The Factory is a dynamic collection of creative workspaces and versatile event venues. It’s all happening here.

As The Factory swings open its doors to the many artists’ studios, we’ll also celebrate the best in Cumbrian fayre with food available to buy. There will also be some fantastic live music on both days.

The very wonderful Factory Tap will also be open serving the finest real ales.

Live Music at the Factory. Saturday 12-1.30pm / Sunday 2-4pm

Many artists will also perform at the Factory throughout the weekend:

Cotton by AbouTime Dance Saturday 9 September: 2.30pm

A captivating exploration through dance and sound-illuminating processes of cotton production, this new work is intertwined with traditional clog dancing, mesmerising sound design and intricate choreography. Performers from the local community work with professional dancers.

The Merry Maker by Kazzum Saturday 9 September: 1.45pm and 3.30pm, Sunday 12.15pm

This smile raising walkabout offers audiences a treat. Freestyle, interactive and created just for you. Nothing makes you merrier than  a one minute rap on a three-wheeled trike. Merry Maker returns to the Factory on Sunday.

Pass by Hawkdance Theatre Saturday 9 September: 3.15pm

An unusual passer-by. Playful and emotive, this fluid dance performance looks at what would happen if stopped to notice the world around us.
